Higher Self

Higher Self

Subconscious

Higher Consciousness

Oversoul

A General               Outlook

We humans by nature have the need to understand the world around us. So we tend to put things into categories or boxes and label them. This gives us a sense (or sometimes an illusion) of knowing and security.

The same applies to the Higher Self, or whatever one wishes to call it. It is so important for us here in the physical world to give it a name and some characteristics so that we can perceive and understand it.

But the truth is that it does not matter what we call it.

Nor does it need any particular cognitive approach to enable us to perceive it. Because it is a part of us, because it is always with us, because it offers us guidance and protection constantly, if we so desire, because it is constantly communicating with us in so many different ways; and it is not that we do not perceive them, but rather that we often do not pay much attention to them. We attribute them to chance or our imagination. And we go on with life as we know it, with so many unanswered questions, when all we need to do is to "listen" to this wise and loving voice within us, to trust it. For all the answers are already within us.

Dolores Cannon's Definition

Not to be confused with conventional medical and psychological terminology, Dolores Cannon’s use of the word Subconscious to describe her groundbreaking work with that part of the human consciousness that is hard to describe because it is above and beyond the conscious mind but also encompasses it. Dolores chose to use the word Subconscious to describe this hidden aspect of existence because it resides at a much deeper, all knowing level of us than our conscious mind, which we use in our everyday lives to do our work and engage in relationships with others.

For millennia, religious and spiritual teachers have referred to what Dolores Cannon labeled The Subconscious as The Oversoul, Christ Consciousness, Higher Consciousness, the Universal Mind and Oneness with Source. The Subconscious itself revealed to Dolores that what we call it is irrelevant and immaterial; it simply is, and it is willing to communicate and help anyone with a sincere desire and intent.

The primary concern of Dolores Cannon and every QHHT® Practitioner was and is to always ensure the well being of their subjects. Seeking the unlimited assistance of the Subconscious, which knows every aspect of a person’s being, whether they are conscious of them or not, can help any person in amazing and unexpected ways.

Following in the tradition of Dolores Cannon, the QHHT® Practitioner asks the Subconscious to reveal information unknown to the conscious mind of the subject that will aid in healing and uncovering the root causes of both mental and physical afflictions, illnesses and phobias. The Subconscious always selects the information most helpful to the person in need. By nature the Subconscious is akin to the Soul and therefore understands the entire situation and every aspect of the individual, including issues from past lives that may be affecting them in their present life.

My Personal  Understanding

I personally prefer the term Higher Self, but that is just a personal preference and essentially a minor detail. What matters is not the name, but the feeling we get from this energy, which I choose to call the Higher Self.

It is not easy to perceive it with our conscious mind because it contains concepts that at first glance may seem contradictory. On the one hand, our Higher Self is a part of us, the wisest and most loving part of ourselves that knows all the answers, and on the other hand, it is a collective of high vibrational energies, essentially energies of love and light, always present and willing to help us if we allow it, since they fully respect each individual's free will.

The deeper the understanding of our existence and our true nature, the easier we can comprehend the concept of the Higher Self, within human permissible limits of course.

The truth is that the individualized perception we have of ourselves is an illusion. In reality, we all come from the same place and we are all connected. This pretense of individuality is a perception of the human experience so that the soul can learn its lessons, gather knowledge and experiences, and accomplish its purpose. Therefore, since our Higher Self is above and beyond our conscious mind, it is not subject to this necessity of separation. And so it can simultaneously be part of me, part of you, part of them, and ALL THERE IS.

When I started my journey with QHHT®, when I was still taking the Level 1 Course, before starting facilitating sessions, and before even having my own first personal session, I think I had the feeling that the Higher Self was something like another entity, that could speak through the person, that could use their voice, but that was essentially something else, something different. Something higher and separate.

Eventually, I realized things are much simpler. The wording and rendering may seem complex and complicated, but in essence, everything is very simple. And in simplicity is where ultimate wisdom lies. So as my experience as a QHHT® Practitioner grows through QHHT® sessions and as my connection with my Higher Self grows stronger, I understand much better that indeed all the answers do lie within us.

Simply put, our Higher Self is our intuition, it is that little voice inside us that speaks to us, explains to us, guides us, it is when we just "know", without any logical explanation. That little voice is always there, we just tend to ignore it. Or we are afraid to believe that we hear it because we have the misconception that we are alone in this world, at the mercy of chance, the unexpected, the uncontrollable. And because we carry within the teachings our human nature has bequeathed us, which say that in order to accept that something exists, there must be tangible evidence, "I just know it, I feel it in my gut" is not enough.

So what I am gradually beginning to learn is that precisely this "I just know it, I feel it in my gut", not only is it sufficient but also, if we follow it, it gives us all the proof we need. Because that's exactly when we start to experience the magic of our existence, that's exactly when the "miracles" start to happen, whether small every-day miracles, or bigger. That's exactly when we begin to find answers, outlets, horizons and rediscover our lost balance and peace. That's exactly when all the unexplained things start to make sense...

Our Higher Self is within us, wisdom and all the answers are within us, miracles are within us...

Ways of      Communicating

It communicates with us in different ways, in any way it can. As in my case, intuitively, through a deep sense of knowing or a strong feeling, it might feel like a little voice that just knows... But it might as well contact us through one of our five senses, an image that we see with our mind's eye, a visual, a sound or music, a fragrance, and all the associations this brings to mind, and so on. Of course, it communicates with us through our dreams, as well as through synchronicities and various supposedly random events or coincidences. But in reality... nothing is ever a coincidence. You may notice that a song lyric, a billboard sign, or even something said on the radio might somehow be the "answer" to what you are thinking at the moment.

And these are some examples. The ways are infinite and they are all correct. There is no right and wrong, no better or worse. The Higher Self communicates with each one of us in a way that is most appropriate for us. And we have the free will to listen to it or dismiss it. And that is fully respected and totally acceptable. No blame, no judgment (as Diane Morrison - Level 3 QHHT Practitioner and QHHT Forum Moderator - always says). This applies to our lives in general and to QHHT® sessions. Each one of us can call it, perceive it, and be aware of it in our own unique way.

A Client's

Εxperience

How do I experience communication with my Higher Self... After a question is asked, it is very clear to me what the answer is. I don't question it. I just say what comes to mind and answer the question quite confidently. Many times while I am answering, it feels like there are two people, one of them is answering, and I - the other one - listen to what I am saying (as the Higher Self) and I am impressed by my answers.

I feel like all the world's wisdom lies inside me and I am very willing to provide the answers and help. Very often the answer to the question seems so obvious to me, but when I listen to it later in the recording, it sounds very strange. It is not an answer that I would think of and that I would consciously give. And that's very striking.  In fact, while I am answering so confidently, a part of me is eagerly waiting to hear what I am about to say (as the Higher Self).

Sometimes I may not have an answer, but as the question unfolds, a static picture or a shifting picture starts to form very slowly. These images are often surreal, they are related to the question, they may not answer it directly, but they may put it in another dimension, they may approach it from another perspective. So what I do is I describe it the best way I can, in as much detail as possible, and I even feel the need to capture it on paper so as not to lose it.

When I don't know what to answer or I have to choose between two or three versions, I answer the one that seems most familiar at the time.

Very often, the question brings my awareness to the topic it refers to, but the answer ends up being something completely different. A completely different explanation from the one I would have expected, something I had never thought of and probably never would consciously think of.

Although I have written down the questions addressed to my Higher Self, I never know what the next question will be. They almost sound unfamiliar to me, but when I hear them, I know the answer to them!

I stay with the image I see or the answer I have just given until the next question is asked, never being able to remember what other questions I have written. It's as if I don't know all the questions, which are the ones I have given and  I am so eager to have them answered..
